radio singing... in the car

so i was in my car yesterday on my way to class and i was jamming out to K-Bull 93(my favorite country station) and this great song was playing and i knew all the words so i was just singing along, having a great time. i pull up to a red light and am just enjoying the song and i look in my rear-view mirror just as this girl is pulling up behind me and she was singing along to her music too. i started laughing because i realized that's probably what i looked like too... and then i realized... that's exactly what i looked like! she was singing along to my radio. the exact same song i was singing along too. i literally started laughing out loud because every time i looked back she was still singing to my radio
this picture is completely unrelated to the story... but i just thought it was funny. this is what happens at my house when my mom puts out decorations for the holidays

about us!

Since Paige wrote about our new blog, I decided I would write about us!

To start off, I'll introduce us! My name is Imari. I am a Senior in college. I go to school on the East coast. I'm a business major and a music minor. I play the flute. I like to ride motorcycles. and if you were wondering.. I am the asian part of the duo!

Paige is my best friend. She's also a Senior in college. She goes to school in the West. Her major has something to do with art and visual communications but the title is long and I always forget it (sorry, Paige...). She's really crafty and arty. She trips a lot. She likes to ride her bicycle. aaannnddd she's the blonde!

Our friendship had kind of a weird start.. We grew up in the same city, going to all the same schools, and even being in some of the same classes, but we never really knew each other. In 7th grade, I moved right next door to Paige's family, but we still didn't know each other very well. Then, one day in 9th grade, we hung out and well, we've been best friends ever since! We were pretty much inseparable... Wherever one went, the other went too!

We stayed friends through High School graduation..

After graduation we went to the same college, and took all the same classes.. Then we both transferred to different schools.

Now, 8 years later... we are Seniors in college, going to different schools, living in different states... but we're still best friends!

too many criminal minds episodes

this monday was labor day, which means to school and no work. it was also the day before my mom turned 51, so we decided to make a day of it and have some fun. saturday we went to the sugarland concert (in the pouring rain) where we got extremely wet and cold (i'm still suffering from the cold), then monday we woke up, went school shopping, went indoor skydiving (so awesome!) and saw the Brigham City Temple (beautiful). it was a pretty great day. after all that i had to go back home to my apartment cause i had school early on tuesday. i got home around 10 and... my basement door was open. creepy. my roommates and i had all been gone for the weekend and i was the first to come back. so either one of my roommates had forgotten to shut the door, or someone had gotten in. and since i've seen one too many 'criminal minds' episodes, my mind obviously went to murderer! i panicked. shut and locked the door, then slowly crept through my house, opening every door and cupboard there was, looking for whoever had come in. i'm not really sure what i would've actually done, if there was actually some one in my house, but i looked anyway. after going through the basement and main floor, i made it up to my room. the most terrifying moment of all was pulling back the shower curtain. i thought for sure that is where they would be hiding. but after a mild heart attack, i pulled back the curtain and was just fine. i had texted my parents to tell them i made it home safe and that my door was open, but i was fine. after i had checked everywhere, one of my friends asked if i wanted to get a slurpie. he came and got me, i put my phone (which was on silent) in my bag and we walked to 7/11, got the slurpies and then walked back to his apartment. well... long story short. we were just hanging out when i reached in my bag to get some gum and noticed that i had 18 missed calls! 18! i hurried and called my mom. it turns out, they thought i had gotten kidnaped or murdered or something because after i had told them the door had been left open, i stopped responding. oops. my mom told me the police were banging on my door and my sisters friends had come to find me. it was bad. but everything turned out alright, i'm not dead!

about the blog

alright... so this summer my best friend, Imari, and I were thinking... 'our lives are hilarious! we should be on tv.' then my mom had the brilliant idea to start a blog where we write all the funny things that happen to us. genius. so here it is... the blog about the blonde (me) and the asian (imari) and the funny things that happen to us on any given day.
i came up with the name of the blog because of a funny thing that happened to us over the summer. my family always goes to lake powell, at least once, every summer, and since imari is basically my twin, she always comes too. so there we were, in page arizona, excited to get out on the lake. we had woken up a little late and gotten a late start out on the lake, but were still pumped to get out there. so we dropped the rest of my family off by the dock where the boat was and we were going to drive around to where we pick up the boat to park the car so it would be easier to pull the boat out that night. so we drove over, and instead of waiting patiently like we were supposed to... we decided we should start walking back along the beach (so if we saw my family, we could just wave them down). well we thought it was a brilliant plan, and it would've been... but we made our way all the way back and found my sisters just chilling in the boat. emma say's 'where's mom?' and we looked at each other and said 'huh? she was with you guys.' well turned out my mom had left the keys to the boat back at the house so she had started walking back to the car to get us... only we had walked back on the beach, not the road, so we missed her. so we hiked all the way up this long, hot hill, grunting the whole way to try and find my mom. we finally made it back to the car... all hot and sweaty and luckily my mom was there waiting for us. she told us that she had walked up and down the ramp looking for us and someone asked her if she was lost and she said, 'no i'm just looking for my daughter and her friend... have you seen a blonde and an asian?' ha ha the person just gave her the weirdest look. well long story short, we made it back to the house, got the keys and spent the rest of the day on the lake. but we thought my mom's comment about us was hilarious and very fitting... so that's what we are. best friends. a blonde and an asian.
